2.11.2011 ~ sick pony

LOVE (verb):
1. to postpone Valentine plans with your wife because her horse is critically ill.
2. to spend a gazillion dollars saving the life of the sick horse and never once complain about it.
3. feeling horrible about spending a gazillion dollars to save the life of your sick pony, but knowing your husband loves you so much he'll never once make you feel guilty about it.
4. spending all night sleeping in your car at the barn, freezing your tush off, changing IV bags every 2 hours on your sick pony.
5. the overwhelming feeling that comes over you as dawn breaks and you realize the above, and see that your sick pony is going to be okay.

Isn't it nice when, every once in a while, prayers are answered the way we hoped they would be? It reminds us that God LIKES to say yes, and does so when it doesn't interfere with our growth and eternal happiness. Cases in point? Your pony and my belly...which now has suspicious fluttering happening as a small person does somersaults inside of me.

beautiful...

The world has enough women who are tough;
we need women who are tender.
There are enough women who are coarse;
we need women who are kind.
There are enough women who are rude;
we need women who are refined.
We have enough women of fame and fortune;
we need more women of faith.
We have enough of greed;
we need more goodness.
We have enough of vanity;
we need more virtue.
We have enough popularity;
we need more purity.
