~ it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Just a few things from December...
Went to the Christmas tree lighting in Monmouth...
and saw our wonderful friends Jon & Jessica there.
Went hunting for a Christmas tree
At Christmas Knoll Tree Farm

Didn't find one there (all too short) but we did LOVE Bigfoot Trees in Dallas (just off Clow Corner west of Hwy 99). It's owned by the family of a guy I went to high school with (thanks Cody!). They take you all over in some sweet 6-seater Polaris Rangers and Gators,

provide the saws, haul you and the tree back, and had a huge, great fire pit and hot cocoa. They even have a tree shaker to shake all the dead needles and spiders and bugs off!! We found a great tree, and we're going to go back every year.

Admired Grandma's new covered deck, and the cool decorations that Carol put up. (Carol is Mom's best friend who we met when she started caring for Dad when his Altzheimer's got bad. Now she's recovering from cancer and lives with Mom, and Mom is HER caregiver! Really it's just an excuse to gallivant all over the place with her best friend!)
Carol and her ex-foster-son Matt made these cool reindeer.
Lovin' on Grandma the day she got out of the hospital from having her knee replaced.
Kizi just looking way too cute.
My favorite Christmas decoration.
The kids' own tree
Kizi and her friends at the holiday music program at school
A smokin' hot photo of Jonathan that I took while I was trying to figure out my new camera.
Don't you love his "More Cowbell" t-shirt?
My favorite accidental photo.
Trying to figure out the darn remote...
My Poco and my Kaiyah
Trying out my camera after taking our Christmas photo... letting the horses kick up their heels and me trying to get some action shots. I LOVE this shot... Kaiyah is literally floating, and Gracie is cracking me up as she runs the perimeter of the arena.
Um, YES, she is fun to ride!!!!
Poco, who used to be such a live wire, is now Mr. Slow Poke... but that's okay, he's good for Jonathan and the kids. :)
And this is my beautiful little hometown of Monmouth. The top photo is looking east, the bottom one is looking west.

beautiful...

The world has enough women who are tough;
we need women who are tender.
There are enough women who are coarse;
we need women who are kind.
There are enough women who are rude;
we need women who are refined.
We have enough women of fame and fortune;
we need more women of faith.
We have enough of greed;
we need more goodness.
We have enough of vanity;
we need more virtue.
We have enough popularity;
we need more purity.
