~ Halloween

Our family has almost become Halloween "Scrooges"...
we LOVE fall
but none of us are fans of candy and scary costumes.
Seriously.
BUT... it's always fun to dress up when you're a kid, so we got our "spook" on and got into the swing of things. (Even though we threw away pretty much all of the candy the next day. Well... *almost* all of it... gotta love Butterfingers, and the kids do like MnMs...)

this is the first year we've let them cut the pumpkins themselves

the back of Calvin's cool astronaut costume

Kiziah has read all of my old "Little House On the Prairie" books so-- thanks to friends who let us borrow the skirt, bonnet and apron-- she was so excited to dress up as Laura!

Caleb, our little law enforcer

Calvin the astronaut (aka, "Spaceman Spiff"!)

Happy Halloween!

beautiful...

The world has enough women who are tough;
we need women who are tender.
There are enough women who are coarse;
we need women who are kind.
There are enough women who are rude;
we need women who are refined.
We have enough women of fame and fortune;
we need more women of faith.
We have enough of greed;
we need more goodness.
We have enough of vanity;
we need more virtue.
We have enough popularity;
we need more purity.
