March 6th was a Friday-- a day that Jonathan usually has off, but ironically-- he was on call that particular weekend (Friday and Sunday) BUT the kids had no school.
SO... since the weather was gorgeous but not very warm and we were all kind of pooped... we decided to go for a drive to the Evergreen Space & Aviation museum. It was a nice way to spend an afternoon. Kind of a rip-off price-wise, but still cool. I know a lot of the history was just wasted on us, but we did get to learn quite a bit about the Spruce Goose, which is permanently on display there.
Without a doubt, the coolest part of our trip was the IMAX 3-D movie we saw about the Space Station. I thought Calvin would jump out of his skin he was so thrilled. It was crazy how much those 3-D glasses really made us feel like we were floating right along with the astronauts in there. No way to convey that through photos, but here are a few from our day there.
The building to the right is where the IMAX theater is located. The Space museum is the building to the left. It cost another arm and a leg to go in there, so we're saving it for another day.

Some of the models of the earliest attempts at flying were on display, including Leonardo DaVinci's first, bat-like model. Darn. I didn't get that on film.
and of course, we had to spend some time playing on the space-themed playground...
